When we first gathered to discuss the possibility of opening a new Christian school, we did so with a sense of both excitement and deep caution. We knew that our community was already blessed with Christ-centered options, and we had no desire to build something out of mere human ambition.
Our prayer from day one was simple and bold: "Lord, if this isn't Your will, slam the door in our faces."
We wanted to be certain that this path was paved by His hand and not our own. To our amazement, the response wasn't a closed door, but a series of miracles. Almost immediately, doors began to swing open—faster than we could run through them!
As we moved forward in those first few weeks, we began to pray specifically for a name and a mascot that would capture the heart of this journey. One of our administrators was led to reread the account of Abraham and Isaac.
In that story, Abraham was asked to do the unthinkable. He was terrified, yet he remained completely obedient to God’s command. As he raised the knife, we see the beautiful resolution of his faith: The Lord provided a ram caught in the thicket to take the place of his son.
Abraham then called that place Jehovah Jireh, which means "The Lord Will Provide."
That story became the heartbeat of our school.
The Name: We chose Providence because it serves as a constant reminder that God is our provider. He opened the doors, He cleared the path, and He continues to sustain us.
The Mascot: We chose the Ram not just as a symbol of strength, but as a symbol of God’s faithfulness and provision. Every time we see our name or our mascot, we are reminded that when we walk in obedience—even when the path ahead seems uncertain—the Lord will always provide exactly what is needed.
The Color Red: To represent the Blood of Christ, the ultimate sacrifice that covers us and makes our ministry possible.
The Color Gold: To represent God’s Sovereignty, acknowledging that He is the King over all things and the ultimate authority over our school.
